For operation OpenVPN in OS Vista it is necessary to make the following:

1. To instal the distribution kit version supporting Vista, to download it it is possible by reference http://confs.openvpn.ru/openvpn-2.1_rc7-instal.exe

2. To add in a configuration file vpn.conf being by default in a folder c:\vpn\2 lines (in any place):
route-method exe
route-delay 2

3. To start OpenVPN click on a shortcut the right button and a choice choice "start from the Manager" (will not work differently!!!) as it is shown on a picture.

In case at start OpenVPN there is a connection, but the traffic goes through usual connection, it is necessary to fulfil following operations:

4. Start-up–> to Fulfil–> cmd-> <Enter>

In customisations OpenVPN GUI you can set a configuration intermediate Socks or a server proxy


In a case if it turns out nothing, you should check up metrics in the table машрутизации. If the metrics of the path of the provider is less, than the metrics машрута OpenVPN you should change manually metrics in properties of connections of the provider and OpenVPN. To check up metrics it is possible the command "route print".

After the termination of operation with VPN, make active a window with connection and press a key "F4", or to select "Disconnect choice in трее (by operation with GUI)
